At Tscherning , environmental remediation is one of our core competencies. Unfortunately, it is now common knowledge that environmentally hazardous and harmful substances are found in all building components and installations, especially in buildings built or renovated between 1955 and 1980. When our trained people remove these substances, we are actively helping to take better care of the environment. Just like we have our own KMA department. We're proud of that.
It's no secret that construction takes up space. That's why giving nature space and preserving it is a clear priority, both on our own land and as a contributor to nature projects.
We have set aside an area at our material yard in Hedehusene where nature is allowed to grow wild. The area is currently home to a group of active honeybees from our hives.
At Tscherning , we regularly donate money to nature conservation via the Danish Nature Foundation, support afforestation and generally only work with suppliers who can document that production does not harm local nature. One example is Ønsk kaffe, which (in addition to refueling our colleagues with really good coffee) supports the local populations on the coffee plantations in sustainable coffee production.
Tscherning is one of six companies approved to demolish mink farms. We have converted some of the mink cages into insect hotels outside our headquarters in Hedehusene. The bees reward us every year with freshly made honey in our hives - yum!
