At Tscherning , we are constantly working to develop responsible behavior and circular transformation as a business. We have a head start, thanks to our forward-thinking founder. But that doesn't mean it hasn't taken dedication and innovation to monetize responsible thinking in the construction industry.
Gone are the days when construction materials were automatically transported to the incinerator.
At Tscherning , we work actively to reuse, up-cycle and recycle materials from our projects. At our central warehouse, we continuously collect the materials we receive and find buyers through our many partners.
If you're looking for inspiration, you're welcome to visit our headquarters, Tscherninghuset, which is made from 89% reused, recycled and bio-based materials.
As a contractor, we come into contact with many different resources on our construction sites every day. We see it as our most important task to recycle these resources as high up the waste hierarchy as possible.
To create and maintain the value of the materials we come into contact with, we work hard to find partnerships and buyer models with new and traditional companies that want to be progressive with us. We also invest both money and time in developing new solutions for the utilization of decommissioned materials together with educational and research institutions.
Today, we can look back on several years of systematically collecting the company's CO2 data. In the EU, we are on the threshold of mandatory registration, and Tscherning is so advanced that our data can be transferred to any of the standards in play.
Of course, recording CO2 by itself does not help the climate. But in order for us as an industry and society to identify areas where CO2 emissions need to be reduced, it is necessary to record emissions systematically and consistently. That's why we also offer our customers CO2 accounting for our part of the work on a given project, and we are always open to collaborating on climate improvement and CO2 reduction with other players in the construction industry.
Tscherning has initiated a process whereby the company's vehicle and machinery fleet will be continuously replaced with electric alternatives. In this connection, we have also developed a mobile 50 kWh power bank for power supply on construction sites. The electricity at our two locations is also from our own solar cells, and the rest of the electricity is purchased with guarantees of origin from renewable energy sources in Denmark. We also continuously seek to participate in projects where trees and bushes are planted to compensate for theCO2 emissions caused by our production.
