Our history

The foundation of Tscherning has always been responsible.

Our founder, Georg Tscherning, had a close relationship with nature. At a very young age, he began signing his school assignments with a line drawing of fir trees. The line that today is Tscherning's logo. And when, as a contractor, he bought his first machine for DKK 5,000 in 1975 and started renting it out with himself as the driver, environmental considerations were always a focus of his business.

Since then, the business has expanded with a new excavator every year. For the first 18 years, the business primarily consisted of renting construction equipment. But throughout the 90s, the focus shifted to first demolition and then construction work. And the responsible approach is a common thread throughout history.

The generational change in 1997, when Søren Tscherning took over as Managing Director from his father, was the start of a growth journey. Since then, Tscherning has developed into one of the most recognized contractors in demolition and construction work. Today, Tscherning has Denmark's largest capacity in the field.

Customer focus on quality, service and environment

Over the years, Tscherning has become our customers' preferred choice when it comes to collaborating on demolition, circular transformation, responsible building development, SUDS works and other construction projects. Today, we offer our customers the synergy of a complete construction process - from circular demolition of an obsolete building and site development to the construction of foundations and a new shell.

Tscherning also shows foresight when it comes to the environment and with thorough preparation has always been among the first to solve new environmental tasks.

At the same time, one of Tscherning's distinctive features is the ability to coordinate tasks, whether it's demolition, construction or environmental remediation.

Tscherning's customers are both large and small. But as the big ones have grown bigger, Tscherning has continuously developed to meet all the requirements for documentation of work performance. Tscherning has its own management system under the Quality, Environment and Working Environment department, which meets the requirements for three ISO and OHSAS certifications in a single workflow.
