We have been selected for the Børsen Sustainable Case 2026

We’re bursting with pride! Our project in Køge Nord— “From Fields to Wild Nature”—has just been selected as one of the official case studies for Børsen Sustainable 2026.

It is a tremendous honor to make it through the selection process. Børsen received several hundred nominations from across the country, and of these, only 36 cases were selected as the most inspiring examples for the Danish business community. The fact that Tscherning among them underscores that our approach to construction work helps raise standards here at home.

A transformation that makes a difference
In Køge Nord, we have challenged traditional construction logic and transformed barren farmland into an intelligent, multifunctional natural landscape. The results speak for themselves:

  • Biodiversity boom: We have created habitats for a total of 384 species—including over 300 new species that have emerged since we established the wetlands.
  • Circular resource management: We’ve thought outside the box by processing 275,000 m³ of soil locally and replacing scarce resources like gravel with local topsoil.
  • World-class flood protection: The area currently serves as a vital rainwater retention basin, protecting both the new neighborhood and local waterways from flooding.
  • CO2 reduction: We have cut the carbon footprint of our pipeline work in half and reduced diesel consumption by 47% through digital machine control.

This recognition is a huge pat on the back for the entire team at Tscherning our talented construction department. It proves that when we combine technical ingenuity with an uncompromising commitment to nature, we create projects that capture the attention of all of Denmark.
