Recycling with care

At Tscherning , we see demolition as the beginning of something new.

As part of an industry that handles a large part of Denmark's waste, we take responsibility for promoting reuse and recycling and extending the life of building materials. We are committed to strengthening the circular economy and increasing the reuse of resources in the construction industry.

Tscherning actively participates in partnerships with contractors, consultants and architects as well as in research projects that support the circular transition. We also work closely with clients, municipalities and private actors, and we are proud to be among those leading the way towards a more responsible future.

We see used materials as resources - not waste

With the establishment of our head office Tscherninghuset, we have completed a circular transformation where heavy elements such as steel and concrete harvested from demolition sites are reused as load-bearing structures.

Created with 89% reused and/or recycled materials, much of the furniture is also made from upcycled materials - such as the Tscherning bench, which is made from leftover and recycled wood in collaboration with Loudliving.

Tscherning has entered into agreements with a number of buyers for building materials and fixtures from our demolitions, so that concrete, bricks, wood, ventilation and acoustic panels etc. can be given new life - either in the form of direct reuse or upcycling. Tscherning has resource partnerships with CRH Concrete, Gamle Mursten, Råt&Godt, and Fischer Lighting, among others.
